TBC Corp. recently teamed with United Way Worldwide and the American Cancer Society’s Road To Recovery program during its annual Week of Action.
Throughout the week of Sept. 21- Sept. 25, employees at TBC's Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., headquarters and approximately 100 distribution centers across the U.S. participated in activities benefiting both organizations.
"TBC’s Week of Action is an annual initiative that encourages TBC's nearly 3,000 employees to participate in volunteer activities that benefit organizations in their local communities," say TBC officials.
"Since launching its Week of Action in 2024, TBC employees have volunteered more than 2,000 hours."
"Giving back to the planet and making an impact in the communities in which we live and work is a core part of our vision," says Ron Harper, TBC's chief supply chain officer. “Our Week of Action reflects our commitment to doing right by our communities in meaningful and tangible ways.”
At U.S. sites, TBC employees assembled hygiene kits, including toothpaste, tissues, shampoo and conditioner, as well as essential items such as combs and deodorant.
Kits were donated to local United Way organizations to support individuals and families in need.
Employees also wrote personal notes to individuals using support from the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program, which provides patients free rides to cancer-related medical appointments. Because of TBC’s support of the program, 500 free rides have been made available for patients.
TBC says that in October, employees at its San Luis Potosi, Mexico, site in will volunteer with two organizations, Fondo Potosino and Colonia Juvenil, which are dedicated to "providing resources and creating opportunities for those in need through programming, civic engagement social support and more. TBC employees will participate in mentorship and team-building activities with program members to inspire confidence and future success.
