    VIP Opens Its 5th Store in Vermont

    A fifth VIP Tires & Service store has opened in Vermont. The company renovated a former car dealership in Bennington, Vt.

    With the opening, VIP Inc. has 67 stores in the Northeast. The Bennington store, located at 183 Phyllis Lane, opened Dec. 2 and is managed by John Chapman. It offers tires as well as a full menu of automotive services.

    The 5,760-square-foot building is located in a former Hyundai dealership. It's undergone a complete renovation, with four new bay doors added to the front of the building, a new concrete shop floor, plus a new roof, parking lot, restrooms and landscaping.

    “After hearing great things about the area and visiting ourselves, we decided that Bennington would be ideal for our next VIP Tires & Service location,” says Tim Winkeler, president and CEO of VIP. “We are proud to be opening our 67th location in Bennington and look forward to serving the local community.”

    “I think overall end user demand has been consistent with previous years, but as always, the devil is in the details,” says Stan Chandgie, chief operating officer and executive vice president of sales, Yokohama Tire Corp. “The economy, particularly the current state of inflation and the subsequent high prices on the entire basket of goods, is definitely having an impact on the consumer.”
