TIA to Launch New Website, Upgrade Training

Nov. 1, 2022

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) will unveil a completely new website, set to launch by the end of the year, and will upgrade training offered to its members.

The announcements were made at a TIA press conference held before the start of this week's Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

This website upgrade is the first that the association has done in 10 years. As of now, the website is 85% complete, according to Dick Gust, CEO, TIA.

“The website is very dynamic, very user friendly and gives a great idea of what TIA is really all about,” says Gust.

Gust says that TIA member training will also be upgraded in the coming years.

Certified Commerical Tire Service training classes are being produced and will be released by the end of the second quarter of next year.

Automotive Tire Service (ATS) training is getting an update - scheduled for a Nov. 4 release - and an upgraded Certified ATS is set to be released in 2024.

“Just like tools get out of date, information gets out of dat, and we need to update that to get our members the best information,” says Gust.

The TIA board has voted to expand training and wants to include electric vehicle training, as well.

“We need to be prepared because there are safety measures needed for handling electric vehicles and the electric vehicles are here,” says Gust.

Earlier this year, TIA created an Electric Vehicle Council to address these issues. Read about the council here.
