Michelin North America Inc. has raised over $670,000 through its recent charity golf tournament, with proceeds supporting 10 charities in communities where Michelin employees live and work.
Charities include the Center for Developmental Services, which helps care for children with disabilities in South Carolina; the Family Scholar House, a Louisville, Ky.-based group that helps children and families attain self-sufficiency; and more.
“The generosity of our suppliers this year was remarkable,” says Will Whitley, director of state, local government affairs and community relations, Michelin.
“After two years without an in-person tournament due to the pandemic, it was especially gratifying to come together this year in support of the broad range of organizations doing truly impactful work throughout the local communities where we operate.“
The tournament has generated almost $9 million since its start in 1989.
This year’s tournament will award proceeds to 10 charitable organizations in Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Louisville, Ky.; Norwood, N.C.; Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and Upstate S.C.
