Bridgestone Corp. posted a 24.9% year-over-year sales increase during the first half of 2022. The company's operating profit also climbed 13.3% during that period versus the first half of 2021.
Bridgestone's passenger, light truck, medium truck and OTR tire sales increased during the first six months, exceeding sales recorded during the first half of 2021.
However, profit was lower than expected due to "losses for (the company's) Russian business assets" and other factors, according to Bridgestone officials.
During the third quarter and through the end of 2022, Bridgestone expects that its global tire sales will continue to "perform strongly," particularly premium tires "for which demand is increasing."
