American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) has released its first Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) report. ATD officials say the company is committed to identifying opportunities and investing "in solutions that are designed to improve its holistic community impact."

“Our corporate vision is to help our customers thrive and drive into the future, with a stated purpose to be the most connected and insightful automotive solutions provider,” says Stuart Schuette, ATD President and CEO. “We consider ESG to be a key factor driving business resilience and as a leader in the industry and tire replacement ecosystem, we serve as a critical and expeditious link between manufacturers and customers of all types.”

ATD is focusing on cutting its greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), energy use and waste. It is targeting a 25% GHG reduction by the year 2030 and wants to reduce its carbon footprint "by replacing carbon-based energy sources with renewable sources. This includes expanded use of electric or alternative-fuel vehicles, reductions in energy consumption and recycling and repurposing materials."
