Black's Tire Service Conference Hosts 600 Team Members

Feb. 8, 2023

For the first time since January 2020, Black’s Tire Service Inc. hosted an in-person sales and leadership event for its team.

The event was focused on the Whiteville, N.C.-based tire dealership’s core values of team, family, trust and to serve, which Rick Benton says has guided the company since its founding in 1929.

More than 600 members of the Black’s Tire Service team, along with their spouses and assorted vendors, attended.

The conference was held in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and included more than 30 tire, parts and supply vendors.

Benton said it was “nice to be back live with our BTS team and families.”

The company also celebrated the more than $175,000 that it raised for the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina. The charity’s president attended the event so Black’s Tire Service could make its official presentation of the gift.

Black’s Tire Service presented awards at its annual Ace awards banquet, named after longtime employee Kenny “Ace” Bullard, who passed away several years ago.

Additionally, Chris Rice, president of the Kaulig Companies’ racing division, spoke to attendees during the event.
