Maxxis International-USA has unveiled the Victra Sport VR2, an extreme summer ultra-high performance tire.
“Based on Maxxis’ popular Victra VR-1, the Victra Sport VR2 is designed for faster dry lap times while retaining the superb heat-cycle and on-limit handling of the VR-1,” its predecessor, according to Maxxis officials.
“A reinforced carbon black compound reaches operating temperatures quickly and delivers fierce traction in dry conditions. Silica fillers in the compound deliver reliable performance in wet weather, while the 3D lateral groove and notch design in the tread breaks up surface film and along with the 2+1 circumferential grooves, improves hydroplaning resistance.
“The innovative tread design features a wide outer shoulder, maximizing cornering performance and response. Two center ribs provide continuous road contact for excellent traction when braking and accelerating.”
The new Victra Sport VR2 is available in 19 sizes, fitting wheels ranging from 15 inches to 19 inches in diameter. The size range “covers popular track-day fitments, such as all generations of the Mazda MX5, Toyota/Subaru twins and others.”
