Ohio Tire Dealers Unveil Scholarship
The Ohio Tire & Automotive Association (OTAA) has rolled out a new scholarship program to help students pursuing careers in tire and auto service.
The Tools to Talent Scholarship Program also is designed to help newly minted techs who are pursuing new careers in the tire and auto service field.
Jamie Ward, president of OTAA and CEO of Cincinnati, Ohio-based Tire Discounters Inc., calls the program "an investment in young people who are passionate about the automotive and tire industry and eager to build rewarding careers. We are proud to help support their journey and strengthen the future workforce of our industry."
Applications for the 2026 scholarship will open on May 15 and will stay open through July 1, 2026. Recipients will receive up to $2,500 for tuitions or tools.
The scholarship is open to high school students who are "planning to enter the automotive or skilled trades field;" students enrolled in automotive or technical training programs; and "early-career automotive and tire technicians within their first year of the industry," according to OTAA officials, who add that applicants will be evaluated based on "their interest in the industry, commitment to professional growth, career goals and personal perseverance.
"In addition to financial assistance, scholarship recipients may have opportunities to engage with OTAA members and industry leaders through mentorship and association events."
Applications and additional information will be available at OTAA's website starting on May 15.
