Black’s Tire Service says its annual BTS Charity Golf Tournament has raised more than $2.5 million for Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina since 2002.

The fundraising effort builds on a relationship between Black’s Tire and Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina (BGHNC) that dates to the nonprofit’s founding in 1954.

Crowell Black, founder of Black’s Tire, served on BGHNC’s first board. Today, Rick Benton Jr. serves on the organization’s board of trustees.

“Black’s Tire’s longstanding history with BGHNC is one of our most significant partnerships enabling us to live out our purpose every day,” says Marc Murphy, president and CEO of BGHNC.

“Not only was the founder of BTS an original founding board member of BGHNC, but today the Benton family, owners of Black’s Tire, is equally involved with Rick Benton Jr. actively part of our board of trustees,” he says.

BGHNC provides residential care, foster care, adoption services, intensive in-home services and other programs for children and families throughout North Carolina.

“We’ve always believed that a successful business has a responsibility to invest in its community,” says Amy Noble, BTS Golf Tournament director. “Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina has been changing lives for generations, and we’re honored that our tournament helps strengthen that mission year after year.”

Black’s Tire will hold the 2026 BTS Charity Golf Tournament Sept. 17 at Myrtle Beach National Golf Club. Proceeds will benefit BGHNC.

Sponsorship opportunities are available, with proceeds directly benefiting BGHNC.
