Yokohama teams up with the New York Yankees

Yokohama Tire Corp. has renewed its partnership with the New York Yankees. The Major League Baseball team is the latest addition to Yokohama’s expanding 2012 sports sponsorship roster.

“The Yankees transcend baseball and is one of the most recognizable brands in all of sports,” says Shawn Denlein, Yokohama;s director of consumer product sales. "Our multi-year agreement includes a permanent sign on the bleacher wall in left field, hospitality and the opportunity to conduct a consumer sweepstakes program.”

More than 3.6 million fans attended Yankee home games in 2011. In addition, millions of television viewers watched the games as well. That is why partnering with the team will give Yokohama extraordinary visibility that will drive consumer traffic to its local dealers, according to Denlein.

In addition to the Yankees, Yokohama’s 2012 baseball sponsorships include deals with the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Angels. Yokohama also has existing partnerships with the National Basketball Association’s Houston Rockets and the National Football League's Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots.
