Maxxis extends pact with soccer, er, football club

June 14, 2012

Continuing its successful three-year partnership, Maxxis International, through its United Kingdom subsidiary, and the Liverpool Football Club have signed a new sponsorship agreement, extending the company’s relationship with the club through 2014.

Maxxis has sponsored Liverpool FC since 2009. According to the company, the relationship "has increased awareness of the Maxxis brand through partner hospitality, online sales of Maxxis-branded merchandise, and LED advertising at matches, which are broadcast to millions of fans around the world."

Maxxis adds that the new deal will allow it to reach supporters in new territories, as Liverpool FC grows its presence across global markets and builds on its heritage as one of the world's biggest football brands.

“As with all our partnerships, we have taken time to form a relationship with Maxxis so we can support mutual goals more effectively and provide significant brand visibility," says Ian Ayre, managing director of Liverpool FC.

Founded in 1892, Liverpool FC is one of the world’s most historic and famous football clubs, having won 18 League Titles, seven FA Cups, eight League Cups, five European Cups, three UEFA Cups, three European Super Cups and 15 Charity Shields.
