The Federal SS657 is original equipment on three new vehicles manufactured in China.
Federal Corp. has supplied BYD Auto Ltd. and Jiangling Motors (JMC) Landwind Co. Ltd. with its SS657 in the following sizes:
* 165/60R14, for the BYD F0;
* 275/65R18, for the BYD F3 1.5L; and
* 175/65R14, for the JMC S-drive sedan.
The all-season tire is designed to ride comfortably and quietly, according to the company. It features large grooves to help disperse water.
Federal says it is “currently in OE talks” with four major automobile manufacturers in China. Details will be disclosed soon, adds the company.
BYD (for Build Your Dreams) entered the auto manufacturing business in 2003. JMC is one of the largest light diesel engine commercial vehicle exporters in China, and has exported vehicles to more than 60 countries.
