The "new" version of General Motors Corp. (GM) will "push ahead" with fuel efficient vehicles and "advanced propulsion technology," according to GM officials.
GM will launch its much-discussed Chevrolet Volt car next year and expects to have 14 hybrid vehicles in production by 2012. Some 65% of the company's vehicles will be "alternative fuel capable" by 2014.
According to GM, the Volt can travel up to 40 miles on battery power alone with an extended-range capability of more than 300 miles.
