Sumitomo establishes Falken Tyre Europe

Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. has established Falken Tyre Europe GmbH in Offenbach, Germany.

The company has been established "to expand sales of Falken- and Ohtsu-branded replacement tires in Europe as part of (Sumitomo's) global sales strengthening activities," according to Sumitomo officials.

Falken Tyre Europe represents a seven million euro investment. It will start operations in January 2010.
