ASA Tire Systems has awarded money from its $1 Million Tire Dealer Bailout Fund to Boston, Mass.-based Dorchester Tire Service Inc.
"Like other tire dealers in this economy, Dorchester Tire was working with older hardware, and had known for some time that without an upgrade, failure would be imminent," say ASA officials. "This month, disaster occurred and their server crashed for the last time," leaving the dealership with nothing more than a back-up tape.
Dorchester Tire owner Al Saks contacted ASA, its software provider since 1983, and received grants to get his dealership's IT system up and running again.
ASA officials note that grants are still available. Contact www.asatire.com/bailout for more information.
