Subaru of Indiana Automotive, the home of North American Subaru manufacturing, recognized three tire companies for their exceptional performance over the past year.
"We work with nearly 260 suppliers," says Scott Brand, senior vice president. "The suppliers we have recognized should take pride in knowing they are part of an exclusive group that is performing at a very high level."
Award winners were divided into four categories. Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc. earned the top “Special Recognition” award. These companies displayed “above and beyond effort,” according to Subaru management.
In the “Excellent Performance” category, Maxxis International and Yokohama Tire Corp. were recognized for achieving Subaru’s targets for “safety, quality, cost and delivery.”
Subaru of Indiana is the vehicle maker’s only manufacturing facility in the U.S. It produces approximately 370,000 vehicles a year, including these models for the North American market: the Ascent, Impreza, Legacy and Outback.
