Yokohama's Mississippi Truck Tire Plant Is 'Best Industry'

June 17, 2019

Yokohama Tire Manufacturing Mississippi LLC was voted “Best Overall Industry in West Point” by the residents of West Point, Miss., the home of Yokohama's 1-million-square-foot truck tire plant that opened in 2015. “Thank you all for your hard work and dedication which contributed to this achievement!” President Osamu Zushi said to the company's employees. “This is a great honor.”

The readers’ choice competition is a yearly event held by the Daily Times Leader newspaper as a way to acknowledge local businesses and individuals around town. Readers nominate and vote for the winners.

The plant employs 658 people and has the capacity to build 1 million truck and bus tires a year — or 3,000 tires a day.
