KYB Americas Corp. employees discussed issues threatening the automotive industry with U.S. Senator Todd Young during his tour of the KYB manufacturing plant in Franklin, Ind.
Consumers’ right to access vehicle data and the 301 China tariffs as well as the proposed 232 auto tariffs were discussed.
“It is quite an honor to have a U.S. senator visit our facility; he was incredibly gracious and listened intently to our concerns,” said Aaron Shaffer, director of product and marketing.
The senator’s visit was coordinated by the Auto Care Association and KYB.
“We had a great dialogue, I believe the visit helped provide the senator with a good understanding of the challenges our industry is facing,” said Shaffer. “We look forward to continuing our conversation with Senator Young during the Auto Care Legislative Summit in September.”
The Auto Care Legislative Summit is set for Sept. 18-19, 2019. The Auto Care Association says the event “consists of in-depth briefings on the industry's most pressing policy issues and face-to-face meetings with members of Congress and their staff. For the first time ever, the Summit takes place in conjunction with the Auto Care Association’s Fall Leadership Days, which will bring in over 400 industry leaders for multiple days of committee meetings and networking.”
