Continental to supply tires for GM SUVs

Oct. 31, 2014

Continental Tire the Americas LLC (Continental) will supply CrossContact LX20 tires in size 275/55R20 for six General Motors Co. (GM) 2014 sport utility vehicle models.

The 20-inch size will be factory-equipped on the GM Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL, Escalade, and Escalade ESV.

A premium SUV, crossover and light truck all-season tire, the CrossContact LX20 is the winner of a Consumer’s Digest Best Buy award.

Continental says features and benefits of the tire include:

* EcoPlus Technology that provides enhanced fuel efficiency, and lower CO2 emissions by reducing rolling resistance, without sacrificing excellent wet braking and long tread life;

* Smooth Response Technology that provides a comfortable ride, reduced noise and a crisp handling response; and

* Traction Grooves that provide gripping teeth inside the groove that lock snow for improved snow grip and performance.
