Aeolus sponsors offshore race team

Dec. 29, 2014

Aeolus Tire America will host its U.S. clients during the Volvo Ocean Race’s stop in Newport, R.I. on May 5, 2015. Aeolus is sponsoring the Chinese Dongfeng Race Team in the offshore race.

“With its global appeal, the Volvo Ocean Race is the perfect opportunity to connect with our customers around the world,” says Mike Leverington, general manager, United States for Aeolus.

The Aeolus team is currently tied for first place in the race.

“This global competition commands the highest level of performance, strength, and teamwork. As the global value leader in the tire marketplace, these values ring true with the Aeolus brand.”

Lasting nearly nine months, the Volvo Ocean Race is the longest sporting event in the world, according to Aeolus. This year, seven teams representing 16 nationalities are vying for the Volvo Ocean Race trophy.

The company says NBC Sports Network’s coverage of the race will feature 39 half-hour shows airing in late afternoon weekend slots.

Aeolus was founded in 1965, as a maker of heavy-duty off-road tires for trucks and earth moving equipment.  The company also offers passenger car and light truck tires. For more information, visit aeolustireamerica.com.
