Dealer program producing results, says MAST

Sept. 30, 2008

Michelin Americas Small Tires (MAST) says its Alliance Associate Dealer (AAD) program has resulted in better margins and enhanced delivery options for participating dealers.

The program requires that members buy at least 85% of their MAST products from their primary distributor in order to receive various bonuses.

During yesterday's AAD meeting in Greenville, S.C., MAST discussed changes to the program for 2009.

Next year, distributors who are affiliated with the program will pay higher prices for MAST's Riken and Medalist associate brands "to discourage sales to non-AAD dealers," says Bob Schaffner, sales program development manager, Michelin North America Inc. (To counteract the increase, AAD dealers will receive a rebate for those brands.)

AAD members also will continue to earn 3% co-op advertising as well as 1% in "Alliance marketing funds" on qualifying Michelin and BFGoodrich brand tires.
