Goodyear appoints Wells to CFO position

Oct. 17, 2008

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has named Darren Wells its new chief financial officer. He replaces W. Mark Schmitz, who has left the company to pursue other interests.

Wells most recently served as Goodyear's senior vice president of finance and strategy. He joined Goodyear six years ago.

"The innovative plans to restructure our balance sheet executed under Darren's leadership served as the foundation of the company's rebirth as a stronger, more respected competitor in the tire industry," says Goodyear Chairman and CEO Bob Keegan.
