Hankook Touts New EV Tire Technology

Aug. 30, 2023

Hankook Tire has unveiled what it calls a new, "specialized electric vehicle technology" that's embedded in its iON electric vehicle (EV) tire line.

The company's iOn Innovative Technology is intended to take Hankook's EV tire technology "to the next level," according to Hankook officials.

It is made up of four "key technologies" designed for EV attributes. They include "i Sound Absorber" for noise reduction, "i Super Mileage" (wear), "i Perfect Grip" and "i Extreme Lightness" for low rolling resistance.

Hankook's iON products were first introduced to the North American market in December 2022 with the launch of iON evo AS and iON evo AS SUV for all-season performance.

In June 2023, Hankook expanded the iON range in North America with the launch of the Hankook iON evo and iON evo SUV.
