New Nokian Plant Up and Running

July 1, 2024

Nokian Tyres' new passenger car tire plant produced its first tire on July 1.

The factory in Oradea, Romania, will have an annual capacity of six million tires when fully operational.

Its development "is progressing on-budget," according to Nokian officials.

Last summer, Nokian officials told MTD that by the year 2025, the company's Dayton, Tenn., plant will make up 25% of the firm's global production.

Nokian's plant in Finland will generate 35%, Nokian officials told MTD.

And the Romania plant will manufacture the rest of Nokian's global output.

The Romania plant, which has been under construction since 2023, is scheduled to manufacture its first commercial tire in early-2025.
