Nokian Tyres has set production records at its North American factory, expanded its product range and volume and grown its regional presence in 2024.
Nokian says it reached an annual production record at its Dayton, Tenn. factory in 2024.
“The energy in the Dayton team is really positive and has been growing throughout the year,” says Lauri Halme, vice president of passenger car tires of Nokian Tyres North America.
“We are improving productivity…week-to-week and month-to-month, which brings a lot of confidence to the team.”
Nokian also strengthened its light-truck production capabilities in Dayton this year, leading to the full return of products like the Nokian Tyres Outpost nAT and Nokian Tyres One HT, which the company says are popular with all-terrain, SUV and pickup drivers.
In addition, the expanding Dayton factory enabled Nokian to launch its sixth-generation all-weather tire in 2024. The Nokian Tyres Remedy WRG5 made its debut in January and has been a sales success, according to Nokian officials.
Nokian continues to transform its production and supply network by refining its logistics operations, growing production in Dayton and Nokia, Finland, and starting commercial production at its new factory in Oradea, Romania, in early 2025.
“Our success is built on the success of our customers, so we need to see that our customers are successful,” says Halme. “We have been close to our customer base, and [as] the market turns, we will be there to support our customers. The market will turn for sure.”
