'Strong Demand' Powers Kumho's Sales
Kumho Tire achieved sales of $760 million and operating profit of $74 million during the third quarter of 2025.
Sales were driven "by strong demand for high-end products in key global markets, such as North America and Europe, along with expanded supply of original equipment tires to automakers," say Kumho officials, who add that the company "has maintained quarterly sales exceeding $760 million for eight consecutive quarters since Q4 2023.
"Although sales edged down 0.1% year-on-year and operating profit declined 22.6% due to the fire at its Gwangju plant in May, Kumho Tire delivered a solid performance amid heightened volatility and market uncertainty, including U.S. tariffs and a global automotive slowdown.
"By focusing on launching high-inch tires and offering region-specific productsfor strategically targeted vehicle models, Kumho Tire achieved significant growth across major markets."
Kumho's sales in North America climbed 19.9% year-over-year, while its European and Chinese operations recorded gains of 9.3% and 2.1%, respectively, "demonstrating stable performance worldwide," say company officials.
During the third quarter, subsidiary Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. launched the Road Venture RT, a rugged-terrain tire that bridges the gap between all-terrain and mud-terrain segments.
"The new Road Venture RT was made for a growing segment of truck and SUV owners who seek hybrid tires that provide durability and traction for off-road activities without compromising daily driving performance,” said Ed Cho, CEO Kumho Tire U.S.A.
“At Kumho Tire, we have an unwavering commitment to quality and believe that everyone deserves premium-grade tires with superior performance at an affordable price. The Road Venture RT continues to deliver on our brand promise of performance without compromise.”
Moving forward, Kumho plans to "strengthen its management structure and stabilize its financial foundation by building on record-high sales and operating profit last year," according to Kumho officials.
"The company aims to solidify its position as a global premium brand through the supply of premium products, expansion of its global distribution network and enhanced brand recognition."
