SRI Names New CEO

Yasuaki Kuniyasu will become president and CEO of Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. (SRI) on March 26, 2026.

He replaces Satoru Yamamoto, who will transition to the roles of representative director and chairperson of SRI's board of directors on that date.

Kuniyasu, age 56, joined SRI in April 1992 and has held a variety of ascending positions within the Tokyo, Japan-based firm, parent company of Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc.

According to SRI officials, the changes were made "in connection with the establishment of the company's new management structure."
