New Triangle Plant to Make Tires for U.S.
Triangle Tire Co. Ltd. has announced its new tire manufacturing plant in Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia, will make products for the U.S. market.
The Cambodian plant is expected to produce six million high performance passenger tires and one million commercial tires per year, primarily targeting “stable-growth international markets such as North America, Europe, the Middle East/Africa and Southeast Asia.”
The $462 million investment “marks a new phase in the company’s globalization strategy, as it aims to significantly enhance its competitiveness in the international market through the establishment of overseas production capacity,” according to officials.
Based in Franklin, Tenn., Triangle Tire USA sells OTR radial and bias products, including giant radials for the construction, mining and aggregates industries, as well as medium radial truck tires to the U.S. trucking industry. The company also has a line-up of specialty trailer (ST) tires and select passenger and light truck tires.
Construction is expected to begin in March 2026. Once the project is completed, Triangle Tire officials say the projected annual operating revenue will reach approximately $371 million, with an investment return rate of 15.1%.
“In order to advance the project, Triangle Tire USA will establish a wholly owned subsidiary on site, which will be responsible for the specific implementation and operation of the project.”
