Nitto Tire U.S.A. Inc. recently committed $5,000 to the Tire Industry Association's (TIA) scholarship program.

“At Nitto Tire, we believe investing in education is an investment in the future of our industry,” says Keiko Brockel, Nitto's CEO and president. “We are proud to support the TIA scholarship program and help create opportunities for students who will become the next generation of leaders, technicians and innovators in the tire and automotive service industry.”

Nitto’s commitment builds on contributions from Bridgestone Americas Inc. and Yokohama Tire Corp., which were made when TIA launched the program in November.

“We are grateful to Nitto for their commitment to this initiative and for recognizing the importance of investing in the next generation of tire industry professionals,” says TIA CEO Dick Gust. “Their support — along with Bridgestone and Yokohama — demonstrates strong leadership and a shared belief that our industry’s future depends on the people we train today.”

The TIA scholarship program awards $2,500 scholarships, administered through the University of the Aftermarket Foundation (UAF), to students pursuing careers in the tire and automotive industry. The initiative is designed to strengthen the industry’s talent pipeline by supporting education and career development.

Applications for the scholarship are open through March 31, 2025. Eligible students can learn more and apply through the UAF at Automotive Aftermarket Scholarships Central.

TIA views this growing list of supporters as an important step toward expanding the program’s reach and impact and challenges others to invest in the fund to help ensure the future of the industry.
