Hunter Adds Maverick Pro Tire Changer
Hunter Engineering Co. has made two improvements to its Maverick tire changer and introduced the Maverick Pro.
The newer version of the center-clamp tire changer includes an ergonomic pick-and-place wheel lift that can lift and tilt heavy wheel assemblies — 19.5s and up to 175 pounds — in one, smooth motion.
Hunter says the lift holds the position while elevated, and then lowers the tire automatically, which removes "the most repetitive and back-straining part of the tire-changing process."
The Maverick Pro also also includes a light underneath the wheel to illuminate the lower roller and the tire's bottom bead during the mount and demount process. It brighten automatically during the lower roller operation, and also includes a timer that can be customized for automatic shut off.
Like its predecessor, the Maverick Pro utilizes hydraulic controls for low-speed functionality and on-demand acceleration so tire technicians can maintain control of the tire changing process. The machine also features a leverless head, automatic tools-clear functionality and the InflationStation that fills tires automatically to the desired tire pressure without the operator needing to stand by.
“The Maverick Pro is a great example of how listening to the customer leads to better products that make wheel service easier,” said Jim Hudson, Hunter's product manager for tire changers. “Technicians have loved the Maverick since its release, and the ergonomic lift and under-wheel light make tire changing safer, faster and easier for everyone.”
