A racing team sponsored by Tire Group International's (TGI) Cosmo brand recently completed the 24 Hours of Lemons endurance event.
The Cosmo brand regularly sponsors drift car drivers and other motorsport participants.
"The expansion into endurance racing stems from the desire to put Cosmo tires to the ultimate challenge and test different tire compounds... to give the tires the maximum workload over a prolonged period of time," say TGI officials. (The Cosmo tires ran on a heavy Ford Crown Victoria.)
"Testing different tire compounds under high stress while sponsoring motorsports is a win-win for us," says TGI's Joaquin Gonzalez.
