Nokian Tyres is inviting drivers to share how they’re helping protect the environment in a social media campaign called Green Energy. The campaign celebrates Earth Month by sharing the company’s sustainability accomplishments and praising consumers who share the tiremaker’s values.
The company will turn noteworthy social media entries into consumer testimonials that highlight the importance of eco-friendly activities.
Each day this week, Nokian is discussing sustainability topics on its social media channels – @NokianTyresNA on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter – and asking drivers to join the conversation. Topics include how sustainability benefits drivers, why Nokian products are a good fit for electric vehicles and how the company’s team members value the environment through their daily actions.
From green building certifications to tires with low rolling resistance to planting tens of thousands of trees, Nokian worked to reduce its environmental footprint in North America last year, even as it expanded its presence in the region through increased production volume and a growing product mix.
Nokian's production factory in Dayton, Tenn., was the first in the industry to earn LEED v4 Silver certification and its adjacent administration building also earned LEED v4 Gold honors. The company is joining with POWDR and One Tree Planted to plant 50,000 trees in the United States in 2021.
