The newest tires in the Falken lineup offer an update for winter driving: the Eurowinter HS01 and Eurowinter HS01 SUV tires are studless tires that feature a new tread compound.
The Eurowinter HS01 is designed to perform in the harshest of winter conditions with an improved compound over predecessor, the Eurowinter HS449.
The new tire provides a confident grip, and the 4D Nano Design and silica dispersion technology ensure the tire remains pliable and functional in freezing temperatures. 3D Canyon sipes and the tire's biting edges provide increased snow and ice traction without compromising vehicle stability.
The Eurowinter HS01 features a new directional tread pattern and central transverse grooves that extend from the center area of the tread and expand in width toward the shoulders. These traits allow for better performance in snow and more efficient water dispersion — via wider exits — for improved wet grip and hydroplaning resistance.
“Modern high-performance vehicles demand winter tires of equal caliber,” says Rick Brennan, vice president of marketing for Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc. “Falken’s Eurowinter HS01 and HS01 SUV tires are built to help drivers conquer icy and snowy roads with confidence.”
The company says the Eurowinter HS01 and HS01 SUV have 5% improved snow braking and a 6% improvement wet braking compared to the previous Eurowinter HS449.
The HS01 is available in 31 sizes from 16 inches to 21 inches and the HS01 SUV tire is available in 11 sizes from 18 inches to 21 inches. All sizes are either V- or W-speed rated, allowing for high-speed capability in colder temperatures.
