Leeds West Groups (LWG), the largest franchisee operator of Big O Tires stores in the U.S., has bought three Big O Tires stores in Oklahoma from MFA Oil Co., the second largest owner in the country.
The stores — in Mustang, Norman and Enid — give Leeds West Groups 31 Big O Tires locations in six states, and 113 locations in 18 states overall. The company took over operations and ownership on Feb. 1.
Leeds West Groups says it also plans to acquire the real estate for the Norman store.
MFA Oil, based in Columbia, Mo., has operated these three Big O Tires stores since 2015. In November the company sold eight Jiffy Lube locations in Missouri saying the sale would allow MFA Oil to focus on its Big O Tires business, where it saw opportunity for growth.
“Expanding the Big O Tires brand into our sixth state and creating synergy with our existing Midas presence within the Oklahoma market is incredibly exciting for LWG," says Judd Kyle Shader, CEO and member of the board of directors. "This acquisition allows us to continue to create consolidation and more opportunities within the Big O Tires brand specifically across the United States.”
