Sailun Tire Americas organized a free drive-in movie night for first responders who have been serving their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mark Pereira, senior marketing manager, said, "The idea came about after thinking of ways in which people could gather safely and socially to have fun and recognize the great contributions made by front-line and essential workers such as first responders, firefighters, paramedics, health care professionals and care home staff during the COVID-19 pandemic."
Kevin Lake, vice president of marketing said the pandemic has given everyone an opportunity "to really focus and appreciate the things that matter and step up to the plate."
Lake notes that in the case of Sailun Tire’s customers, many of them had to navigate through some major challenges during COVID-19, such as changes in inventory, sales and product demand. Their resilience is something to be admired, he said “It’s definitely something that has really resonated with us."
“We’ve had some amazing people we know of on the frontlines and we just wanted to show our appreciation for what they have done and continue to do,” says Lake.
During the event, an intermission included presentations to highlight the contributions of front-line and emergency workers. There were gift baskets, Sailun-branded popcorn, and a raffle drawing for the chance to win a set of tires. Non-perishable food donations were also accepted for local food banks.
