Plaza Tire raises $11.6K for St. Jude campaign

June 23, 2014

Plaza Tire Service announced that the company and its customers raised $11,712 during the fourth annual St. Jude Give thanks. Give hope. campaign to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Plaza Tire joined 2,600 restaurants, grocery stores and other retail locations nationwide that encouraged consumers this spring to “give hope” to kids fighting cancer and other deadly diseases by donating $1 during checkout during April and May 2014. Funds raised through the campaign help St. Jude provide the best care to the world’s sickest children at no cost to their family.

In four years, the annual campaign has brought together thousands of businesses across the country and raised more than $1.6 million for St. Jude.

“Our partners play an invaluable role because it costs $1.7 million to operate the hospital every day and 75% of that funding comes from the public through programs like St. Jude Give thanks. Give hope,” said Richard Shadyac Jr., CEO of ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “This campaign helps us continue to ensure that no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.”
