Louisiana dealers to hold scholarship fundraiser

May 14, 2014

The Louisiana Independent Tire Dealers Association (LITDA) has created the “Dollars for Scholars” program, a fundraiser that will be held annually to benefit the LITDA Scholarship Fund.

Miles Holley, owner of Skid Marks Tire Pros and a member of the LITDA board of directors, came up with the idea for the program as a way for tire dealers to give back to their community.

Each year on a given Saturday, participating member locations across Louisiana will donate $1 for every tire sold with all of the proceeds benefitting the LITDA scholarship fund. This year the event will take place on June 28 to benefit the association's 2015 scholarships.

Holley says, “Tire dealers are all about giving back and what better way than to invest in the future of our children and their future? A dollar at a time can go a long way!”

The LITDA Scholarship honors the sons and daughters of LITDA members who have achieved academic excellence and who have proven community leadership abilities. In 2014, LITDA has awarded five, $2,000 scholarships.

For those interested in participating, contact the LITDA office at (225) 767-7640 or [email protected]. For more information about “Dollars for Scholars,” and a list of participating locations, visit www.litda.org.
