Bartec tool programs Cub-style TPMS sensors

May 12, 2014

Bartec USA LLC has added the capability to program Cub-style aftermarket sensors to its Tech500 tool. The new functionality enables technicians to program sensors with the same tool that performs vehicle diagnostics.

Until now, programming the Cub-style aftermarket TPMS sensors required a separate programming device. Bartec says the Tech500 tool now integrates the sensor programming, diagnostic and relearn steps to make the process faster and accurate.

The Tech500 tool also programs the EZ-Sensor, Sens.it and Intelisens sensors.

In addition, the company says the Tech500 can be used for branded Cub programmable sensors from 31 Inc. (Smart Sensor), Dorman (Multi-fit), ITM (Uni-Sensor) and Pilot.  All that’s required to program these sensors with the Tech500 is the R51 update and the specially designed Programming Fixture purchased separately from a Bartec distributor.

The Cub Programming Fixture is easily attached to the accessory port on the Tech500, and because of the unique “process driven menu system” it is easy and intuitive to operate, according to the company.

“An added benefit of programming sensors with the same tool that completes the TPMS relearn, you can test the sensor prior to installation,” says Michael Rose, Bartec product manager.

The company says the Tech400+/Tech400SD version of this programming fixture will be available in August 2014.
