The new Moog complete knuckle assembly from Federal-Mogul Motorparts combines multiple components that normally have to be sourced separately into a single, fully assembled unit.
The innovation earned New Product Showcase honors for Federal-Mogul Motorparts at the 2017 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX).
The Moog complete knuckle assembly won the most votes in the hard parts category from buyers attending AAPEX, which ran Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Las Vegas.
In the shop, the complete knuckle assembly is a huge time-saver for technicians, according to Kevin Kolath, director of product and business development – steering and suspension, for Federal-Mogul Motorparts. He says technicians save up to an hour-and-a-half on a repair.
“All a technician has to do is unbolt the assembly from the vehicle and bolt in the new one,” says Kolath. Another advantage is technicians no long need a press to complete the repair.
