Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. and Continental Tire the Americas LLC and were the winners in the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Best New Products competition, Tire and Related Product Division, at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
The awards are given to the most innovative and cutting-edge automotive aftermarket products that will be consumable in 2018.
Products are judged in 16 award categories, and each category has one winner and two runners-up.
Nearly 3,000 products were entered into the 16 different Showcase categories to be considered for the SEMA New Product Awards this year. Winners were selected based on a variety of factors that included superiority of innovation, technical achievement, quality and workmanship, consumer appeal and marketability, and more.
Cooper was the top winner in its category with its Evolution HT tire while Continental won runner up awards for the Continental Tire Extreme Experience -- General AS-05 and the General G-Max RS.
