Monro Is Offering Tire Installation for Amazon

July 26, 2018

Monro Inc. will install tires bought on Amazon.com. The company will initially offer the installation service to consumers in the Baltimore area, but eventually it will expand to include all of Monro's 1,174 stores in 27 states.

Monro follows Sears in offering tire installation for Amazon tire shoppers.

The service in Baltimore is available now to consumers who purchase tires on Amazon and select the "ship-to-store" option for any of Monro's Mr. Tire Auto Service Centers stores in the region.

Consumers will buy the tires online, choose a Mr. Tire store for installation, and also choose a date and time for installation. The tires will be sent to the store.

Brett Ponton, Monro's CEO and president, says,  “This option for tire installation aligns perfectly with our Monro.Forward initiative to develop a robust omni-channel presence.”

Monro says its collaboration with Amazon is a key component of its customer-centric "Monro Forward" strategy.

The company announced the partnership the same day it revealed its first quarter fiscal 2019 earnings.
