Global Tire Expo keeps expanding

Sept. 13, 2013

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced that the total number of registered exhibitors for the 2013 Global Tire Expo — Powered by TIA (GTE) has already exceeded the 2012 total.

“We are excited that the number of exhibitors for the Global Tire Expo is up 20% over last year which includes 55 new exhibitors,” says TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield. “GTE continues to grow (dealer registration in 2012 was up 24%), and we are confident that this year’s show will exceed expectations.

“If you want to expand your business, learn the latest innovations, and meet with decision-makers from the largest dealers, retailers, and wholesalers, the 2013 Global Tire Expo — Powered by TIA is the place to be.”

GTE takes place in conjunction with the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show Nov. 5-8, 2013, in Las Vegas. Net square footage of exhibit space  also is up over 21,000 square feet or 16%.

Statistics from last year’s GTE showed that 90% of buyers attending GTE planned to buy a product or service from an exhibitor in the 12 months following the show.

“These are some very strong numbers. The data clearly shows that buyers are making decisions based on what they are seeing at the show and, therefore, the number of exhibitors continues to increase each year,” says Littlefield.

‘One Continental’ offers one-stop shopping

Continental Tire the Americas LLC’s Commercial Vehicle Tire group is bringing its “One Continental” approach to the Global Tire Expo — Powered by TIA/Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas.

Situated just across from its sister group, the Passenger and Light Truck unit, Conti’s truck tires, retreads, and ContiPressureCheck tire pressure monitoring system will be together to represent “One Continental” in booth 42205.

The “One Continental” approach represents how Continental meets a trucking fleet’s various needs and lowers their overall driving costs by offering a wide spectrum of tires and automotive components for commercial trucks.

“We’re going to have a very unique proposition for truck tire dealers who visit us at SEMA,” says Paul Williams, Continental’s executive vice president for truck tires, the Americas. “Whether they are North American or Latin American based, they can take advantage of Continental’s premium new truck tires, premium ContiTread retreads, or the ContiPressureCheck tire pressure monitoring system. By offering them a full range of products needed by today’s trucking fleets for their tires, we’ll give dealers the competitive advantage they are looking for. We can even help them access products from our automotive companies in the Continental family to help diversify their business.”

The company is focusing on growing its dealer network throughout the Americas. Continental will have Spanish-speaking personnel on hand to meet with dealers from the Latino markets. The booth also will feature demonstrations of the ContiPressureCheck tire pressure monitoring system.

“We are very excited to attend SEMA again in 2013 and looking forward to meeting with dealers who want to become business partners with Continental, from all markets throughout the Americas,” Williams says. “We are confident that we are the ‘one’ manufacturer who can best help them grow their business. Not only do we address the full life cycle of a tire through new products, retreading and tire pressure monitoring, we can also connect them to our Automotive division to address their customers’ component, aftermarket, safety and electronic needs.”
