2015 SEMA Show, Day 2: Bartec Shows How To Adjust Placard Pressure

Nov. 5, 2015

Bartec USA LLC’s Michael Rose explained how to adjust the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) low pressure trigger point using the company’s Tech400Pro diagnostic tool in a training class at the 2015 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

“If you change the inflation pressure, it is recommended that you change the vehicle configuration for monitoring the pressure as well,” says Rose. The TechPro 400 tool gives technicians the ability to change the placard value to reflect the new inflation pressure according to industry best practice and generally accepted guidelines.

The capability to reprogram the recommended inflation pressure means the proper TPMS low pressure warning is maintained when plus sizing and up-fitting wheel and tire packages.

Rose, who is a product manager for Bartec, says three key features of the Tech400Pro are not available in other TPMS tools. They are:

1. placard pressure adjustment

2. wireless updating

3. passive systems diagnostics

Bartec offered two classes during the SEMA Show. Rose led “The Importance of Placard and TPMS” on Nov. 4. The second class was “TPMS Triage, How to Know What’s Wrong With a TPMS” on Nov. 3. Bartec is also demonstrating how to use the TechPro400 at booth number 40062 on Nov. 5 at noon and 4 p.m. and on Nov. 6 at 10 a.m.
