General Brand Enters Stock Car Racing

Oct. 16, 2015

The General tire brand is kicking off its next 100 years by entering stock car racing. The Continental AG brand will become the official tire and lone supplier of the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) Racing Series beginning in 2016.

“The General tire brand celebrated 100 years of innovating tire technology this year and we are proud to continue that tradition in the ARCA Racing Series in 2016,” says Travis Roffler, director of marketing for General tire. “ARCA produces some fantastic racing and allows us to expose the General brand to a whole new audience of motorsports fans. We’re eager to expand our portfolio and showcase our technologies to such a dedicated audience.”

Ron Drager, ARCA president, says “We are pleased to welcome General tire as a corporate partner in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. General tire’s participation will be evident in many ways, including a broad based activation package with our broadcast partners, race event venues and teams, as well as contributing extensive knowledge and experience in tire manufacturing technology.”

General’s entry into the stock car arena will allow the brand to showcase its tire technologies. A team of engineers and product specialists has worked to develop a tire that is durable and provides the performance professional race teams and drivers demand.

General’s agreement includes the official tire and sole supplier status in the ARCA Racing Series. It also includes a complete television package including commercials, in-car cameras and billboards, as well as at-track activation, race entitlements, and track signage programs.
