Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. and United Steelworkers Local 207L in Findlay, Ohio, have reached an agreement that will extend Cooper's contract with the local until midnight on Nov. 21. The contract was set to expire today, Oct. 31.

During this extension, production will continue as planned at the Findlay tire plant.

Commenting on the extension, Findlay Plant Manager Jack Hamilton says "all parties are working together to bring a satisfactory conclusion to the contract discussions."

Both sides "are talking candidly," says USW Local 207L President Rod Nelson. "We are working toward a conclusion that balances what’s good for the company along with the needs of our workers."
