Jack Williams Tire acquires 3 Lebzelter’s outlets

Aug. 10, 2015

Jack Williams Tire Co. Inc. has acquired three Lebzelter’s Total Car Care stores operating in the Lancaster, Pa., area.

Jack Williams Tire purchased the stores from majority owners C. Clair McCormick, president, and Daniel Miller, vice president. Lebzelter’s Total Car Care was founded in 1854. Its N. Queen Street store in Lancaster is the world’s oldest Goodyear dealership, according to the company.

Jack Williams Tire has been Lebzelter’s longtime wholesale supplier.

“What better way to carry on the 160-year-old Lebzelter’s legacy than to merge with a long-standing family-owned partner that shares similar values and service philosophy” says McCormick, president and owner of Philip Lebzelter and Son Co., which does business as Lebzelter’s Total Car Care.

“Our main concern was to find a company that would continue serving and supporting our community as well as provide a great place to work for our loyal and hardworking employees,” he says.

“Lancaster is a beautiful and thriving area and we are excited to be joining this great community,” says Bill Williams, chairman and CEO of Jack Williams Tire. “The three Lebzelter locations are a natural fit for us and we look forward to continuing the legacy of this historic company that Clair and Dan have built over the past 35 years.”

Over the next few months the Lebzelter's stores will be rebranded and updated to reflect the looks of the Jack Williams Tire stores in the nearby Harrisburg, Pa., market. In addition, the locations will expand tire and service selections and add extended hours and free shuttle service.

Miller will continue with Jack Williams Tire to manage the Millersville location, alongside the rest of the Lebzelter team. Jack Williams Tire will also be hiring at least 12 additional employees to support the increased services offering and to improve customer service needs.

Founded in 1929 in Kingston, Pa., Jack Williams Tire is a third-generation, family-owned and operated business. Family members Scott, Tracey, and Jason alongside their father Bill Williams are involved in the day-to-day operations and management of the growing family business.

Jack Williams Tire now has 34 tire and auto service centers in northeastern and central Pennsylvania as well as 12 wholesale distribution centers in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. The company is tied for No. 33 on the Modern Tire Dealer 100 list of the nation’s top independent tire dealers.

This marks the most recent of several acquisitions by Jack Williams Tire of an independent tire dealer. Jack Williams Tire continues to seek additional growth opportunities. For more information, visit www.JackWilliams.com
