Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. is donating a portion of sale proceeds of a pink-colored version of its ultra-compact CP7732C ½-inch composite impact wrench to breast cancer research and education.
The tool release coincides with October’s international breast cancer awareness month activities, and nationwide Komen Race for the Cure events.
“It’s staggering when we consider all that can be done when we come together as individuals, as a company, and as a community,” says Mark Johnson, general manager. “To channel those efforts toward a cause that impacts so many people, friends, and family… that’s a very powerful thing.”
Chicago Pneumatic is also planning an interactive breast cancer awareness and memorial activity for its booth at the upcoming Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nev. Chicago Pneumatic says it will make an additional donation to breast cancer research for every participant in the soon-to-be announced activity.
Over their lifetime, one in eight women and one in 100 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Early detection is critical in surviving breast cancer. That’s why community education and promoting breast health exams are so important in the fight to beat breast cancer.
“Every woman should know their breasts and know what’s ‘normal’ for them… that’s so important,” says Jennifer Wolf, director of development at Susan G. Komen Charlotte. Komen Charlotte hosts the annual Komen Race for the Cure in downtown Charlotte, and serves the area including Chicago Pneumatic’s U.S. headquarters in Rock Hill, S.C.
A Chicago Pneumatic team will again participate and raise funds in the Komen Race for the Cure in Charlotte on Saturday, October 5.
“It’s also nice to be part of the community,” says Johnson. “I mean, 15,000 people in downtown Charlotte all coming together — that’s a cool thing to be a part of, and that’s a good thing for us to participate in.”
