Identifix Inc. has added an estimating feature called Direct Quote to its online tool, Direct-Hit, at no additional cost to subscribers. Direct Quote provides quick, easy access to current and reliable estimating information from automotive data supplier Motor Information Systems.
“The ability to generate accurate estimates is critical for both aftermarket shops and dealership service departments, which is why it was so important for us to include the Direct Quote feature within Direct-Hit,” said Jeff Sweet, president of Identifix.

The company says Direct Quote differs from competitors’ estimating tools in three ways:
1) It enables users to create multiple jobs within a quote and modify each job separately with menu-based pricing, including discounts and fees that can be applied at the individual job or quote level;
2) It offers auto suggestions as the user types to take the guesswork out of parts and labor item selection;
3) It provides templates for shop specials or commonly performed jobs that automatically synchronize with the current vehicle and generate an understandable estimate shop owners can print or email to their customers.
