Apollo tires on Mahindra’s first electric car

March 20, 2013

Apollo Tyres Ltd reports that its Apollo Amazer 3G eco-friendly tires are on the e2o, the first electric car produced by Indian utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra.

The company says the Amazer 3G eco‐friendly tires were developed in six months to match the requirements of e2o. The tire is the result of in‐depth research by the Apollo R&D team to meet the specifications of low rolling resistance, which translates into better mileage with lesser power being drawn from the battery.

Apollo Tyres is the exclusive supplier of 155/70R13 size tires to Mahindra and Mahindra.

“Apollo Tyres has always believed in a collaborative approach towards research and development. Of course, working with a progressive OE partner like Mahindra and Mahindra makes our road to excellence that much smoother," says Satish Sharma, chief, India operations, Apollo Tyres Ltd.

"Our product labs benefit from some of the best minds in the global automotive and tire industry. For us, innovation does not mean much unless it can create tangible value for the customer, ensure a safe ride and deliver on the promise of sustainability.”
